Faith Lutheran Church

Procliaming, Living, and Growing in Faith

Worship Services

Faith Lutheran Church provides various styles of worship, with four services each weekend during the school year and three services each weekend during the summer. One service is held on Saturday evenings year round, and three services are held each Sunday morning from mid-September through the end of May. Two services are held each Sunday morning during the summer. Each worship service is centered around the Word of God and the celebration of communion. Special services are held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings during Advent and Lent. During our worship services, we celebrate one church, one God, and one faith, praising God in a variety of styles and voices. Come, taste, and see the majesties of our Lord!

Mid-September through End-of-May Worship Schedule

  • Saturday, 5:00 p.m. Spirit of Faith Worship Service with Communion
The Saturday evening Spirit of Faith worship service uses old time gospel songs and spirituals led by a small combo of guitar, keyboard, flute/recorder, and percussion. The style is relaxed, and dress is informal and reflects the season.
  • Sunday, 8:45 and 10:00 a.m. Traditions of Faith Worship Services with Communion
The 8:45 and 10:00 a.m. Traditions of Faith worship services use our Dobson tracker pipe organ to celebrate the heritage of Lutheran hymns and liturgies. These more traditional services are led by two pastors and an assisting minister and often feature special music by soloists or instrumentalists.
  • Sunday, 11:15 a.m. Faith Today Worship Service with Communion
The 11:15 a.m. Faith Today contemporary worship service features a vocal ensemble leading spirited praise songs accompanied by keyboards, guitars, and drums. This informal service on Sunday morning includes call and response songs and special music by the vocal ensemble or instrumentalists.

Summer Worship Schedule (Memorial Day through Mid-September)

Faith's summer worship schedule extends from Memorial Day to Labor Day each year. The following services are offered each weekend:

  • Saturday, 5:00 p.m. Spirit of Faith Worship Service with Communion
  • Sunday, 8:45 and 10:00 a.m. Living Faith Service with Communion

    8:45 a.m. Worship

The 8:45 a.m. worship will begin with pipe organ-led music using a Kyrie and Canticle of Praise as part of the Gathering element, followed by psalm-singing and scripture readings leading to the sermon—the Word element. The Hymn of the Day is a pivot point in worship since the richness of songs and hymns call for various musical leadership styles. Here we will use either a piano-led combo, organ, or both. Then beginning with the Meal section, a combo will lead the Communion Liturgy. The closing Sending section will include piano-led combo musical leadership.

The 10:00 a.m. worship will begin with piano-keyboard combo leading the Gathering Songs into the Word section of scriptures which culminate in a pastor preaching the Sermon for the day. Again the Hymn of the Day is the pivot point using either piano-keyboard combo or pipe organ as the lead instrument. This service will include Communion Liturgy led by the pipe organ as we enter the Meal. The closing section of this later morning service will include a Sending Song led by the pipe organ to send forth God’s people into mission and vocation.
